Feed, Hay, & Water
Chins need Fresh Hay, water & pellets daily.

There are a number of good pellets available.
It is not recommend to feed "pet store" pellets as most are not very nutrutrional and are chocked full of treats. Some of the Higher quality pellets include Mazuri, Traditon, Alice Kline, and Oxbow.

These pellets may be harder to find, Alice Kline can only be order online; and Oxbow can sometimes be found in petstores or vets offices. Mazuri and Traditon can normally be found at a local feed store, and can be order from numerious places online.

I feed my chins Traditon pellets which I order from our local feed store. I also sell Tradtion if you can not find a dealer in your area, please contact me.

Fresh hay should also be readily available at all times.

Hay is a great source of fiber, and helps your chin wear down it's teeth. Timothy hay hay should be feed with an alfalfa based pellet (most pellets are alfalfa based).

Some people feed loose hay and some Hay cubes. All of my chins get unlimited loose Timothy hay daily, and once a week they get a couple alfalfa hay cubes. Loose hay is a little messier, however my chins enjoy it more, and I feel they eat more of the loose hay then the hay cubes.

Fresh bottled or filtered water should be given Daily.

Tap water is not recommend do to the chemicals added to it. If you want you can boil your city water then refriderate it, but we purchased a Pur 3-Stage Water Filter, and we use it for us too, not just the chins.

Water should be supplied in a water bottle, not a bowl. Water in a bowl can easily be contaminated by shavings, poo, or whatever else. It can also be tipped over and get the chins fur wet.

Waterbottels should be cleaned and sterilzed at LEAST once a week.
